Field reports

What an engagement actually produced, written the way we write them for clients: the situation, what we found, the smallest thing we built, and what changed. We look first — the reports read that way.

field report · our own product

Chippy Tools

Our own app, built the way we tell clients to build: the smallest useful version first, then grown by what its users actually did. We design it, build it, run it and answer its support line — the whole life of a product, not just the launch.

  • ●— finding 01: shipping your own product keeps your consulting honest
  • ●— finding 02: the support line teaches you things no dashboard will

What it proves — we do not just advise on building products. We live with one.

Designed, built, run and supported in-house.
field report · advertising & attribution

Attribution at global scale

We have designed and built advertising and attribution systems that operated globally — the plumbing that works out what a click was worth, across markets and platforms, so spend decisions rest on measurement rather than opinion.

  • ●— finding 01: attribution is a data problem long before it is a marketing problem
  • ●— finding 02: at global scale, small measurement errors become large budget errors

What we built — pipelines and models that turned raw advertising and event data into numbers a budget owner could act on.

Ran globally.

How do you open a 1TB CSV?

Five and a half billion rows in a single file. Too big for a spreadsheet, too big for an editor, too big for most databases’ patience. A real engagement, and a fair question.

  • ●— finding 01: at this size a file stops being a file and becomes infrastructure
  • ●— finding 02: the first job is deciding what questions the data must answer — not loading it

What we built — a pipeline that streamed, partitioned and shaped the file into something queryable, so answers took seconds instead of not arriving at all.

You don’t open it. You stream it.

Applications built for companies

We have designed and built applications companies use every working day. They stay unnamed here by our own rule: client work is confidential by default, and this page only says things that are true.

  • ●— finding 01: the most valuable software in a business is usually the least visible

What we built — applications shaped around how the work actually runs, delivered as the smallest version that earns its keep, then grown.

Named on request, not on the web.

Client engagements stay unnamed by design. References and specifics on request.

What clients keep

Every engagement leaves the same four artefacts behind. They are yours whether or not we ever work together again.

artefact · 01

The findings memo

What we saw, in plain words. Short enough to read, specific enough to act on.

artefact · 02

The measurement baseline

The numbers before we touched anything — so “better” means something afterwards.

artefact · 03

The built thing

Running, documented, handed over. Yours to run, change, or switch off.

artefact · 04

The map of what’s next

What to build, what to buy, what to leave well alone — in order.
